Respiratory System

1. Find a diagram and label the important organs of the Respiratory System:
The Respiratory System

3. Give a explanation of what the respiratory system does:
The respiratory system is a system in the body that takes in oxygen and replaces it with carbon dioxide when you breathe.

4. List important organs within the system:
- Nose
- Pharynx
- Trachea
- Bronchi
- Lungs

5. Explain what happens with the exchanges of gas in the lungs:
Gaseous exchange is the process where we get the oxygen we need into our bodies and the carbon dioxide, that we produce during respiration, out. This process takes place in little sacks of the lungs called Alveolus. These Alveolus have several features that encourage gasses exchange to take place including moist, one cell think walls. The gases move by the process of diffusion. Diffusion is when gasses spread from an area of high concentrate to love concentration. The oxygen diffuses into the blood and the carbon diffuses into the lungs.
